I just returned from the fine state of Oregon, where I sat for the National Certified Educational Planner exam in Portland. This exam was the last step to become one of only 200 college consultants in the United States who have been certified by the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners. This certification is only awarded to those college consultants who have met the highest level of education, experience and practical knowledge for helping students find their Best Fit colleges. To celebrate, I toured eight Oregon schools: Portland State University, University of Portland, Reed College, Lewis and Clark, George Fox, University of Oregon and Lindfield. Many gorgeous and green campuses were seen and enlightening conversations about campus culture, academic rigor, social life were had. In addition – and if you have heard our Coast2Coast podcast about College Food – and Why It’s Important, you know my feelings about this – Serendipity on 3rd and near the Linfield campus, is likely some of the best ice cream in Oregon.
